Abhirūpanandā Abhirūpanandātherīgāthā

Nandā, see this bag of bones as “Āturaṁ asuciṁ pūtiṁ, diseased, filthy, and rotten. passa nande samussayaṁ; With mind unified and serene, Asubhāya cittaṁ bhāvehi, meditate on the ugly aspects of the body. ekaggaṁ susamāhitaṁ.

Meditate on the signless, Animittañca bhāvehi, give up the underlying tendency to conceit; mānānusayamujjaha; and when you comprehend conceit, Tato mānābhisamayā, you will live at peace. upasantā carissasī”ti.

That is how the Buddha regularly advised the trainee nun Nandā with these verses. Itthaṁ sudaṁ abhirūpanandā therī gāthāyo abhāsitthāti.
