Anūpama Anūpamattheragāthā

The conceited mind, addicted to pleasure, “Nandamānāgataṁ cittaṁ, impales itself on its own stake. sūlamāropamānakaṁ; It always goes where Tena teneva vajasi, there’s a stake, a chopping board. yena sūlaṁ kaliṅgaraṁ.

I declare you the loser mind! Tāhaṁ cittakaliṁ brūmi, I declare you the insidious mind! taṁ brūmi cittadubbhakaṁ; You’ve found the teacher so hard to find—Satthā te dullabho laddho, don’t lead me away from the goal. mānatthe maṁ niyojayī”ti.
