Awakened Buddhasutta

ā€œMendicants, there are these four bases of psychic power. ā€œCattārome, bhikkhave, iddhipādā. What four? Katame cattāro? It’s when a mendicant develops the basis of psychic power that has immersion due to enthusiasm … Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu chandasamādhippadhānasaį¹…khārasamannāgataṁ iddhipādaṁ bhāveti, energy … vÄ«riyasamādhi …pe… mental development … cittasamādhi …pe… inquiry, and active effort. vÄ«maṁsāsamādhippadhānasaį¹…khārasamannāgataṁ iddhipādaṁ bhāveti. These are the four bases of psychic power. Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro iddhipādā. It is because he has developed and cultivated these four bases of psychic power that the Realized One is called ā€˜the perfected one, the fully awakened Buddha’.ā€ Imesaṁ kho, bhikkhave, catunnaṁ iddhipādānaṁ bhāvitattā bahulÄ«katattā tathāgato ā€˜arahaṁ sammāsambuddho’ti vuccatÄ«ā€ti.
