2.6. Division of Human Types by Six6. Chakkapuggalapaññatti

1. There is the person who, in regard to doctrines he has not heard of before, thoroughly understands by his own effort the truths, and obtains therein omniscience as well as mastery over the fruits.Tatra yvāyaṁ puggalo pubbe ananussutesu dhammesu sāmaṁ saccāni abhisambujjhati, tattha ca sabbaññutaṁ pāpuṇāti balesu ca vasībhāvaṁ, sammāsambuddho tena daṭṭhabbo.

Such an one is to be considered a perfectly Enlightened One.Tatra yvāyaṁ puggalo pubbe ananussutesu dhammesu sāmaṁ saccāni abhisambujjhati, na ca tattha sabbaññutaṁ pāpuṇāti na ca balesu vasībhāvaṁ, paccekasambuddho tena daṭṭhabbo.

2. There is the person who, in regard to doctrines he has not heard of before, thoroughly understands by his own effort the truths, but does not obtain omniscience therein as well as mastery over the fruits.Tatra yvāyaṁ puggalo pubbe ananussutesu dhammesu sāmaṁ saccāni anabhisambujjhati, diṭṭheva dhamme dukkhassantakaro hoti, sāvakapāramiñca pāpuṇāti, sāriputtamoggallānā tena daṭṭhabbā.

Such an one is to be considered enlightened for himself (paccekasambuddho).Tatra yvāyaṁ puggalo pubbe ananussutesu dhammesu sāmaṁ saccāni anabhisambujjhati, diṭṭheva dhamme dukkhassantakaro hoti, na ca sāvakapāramiṁ pāpuṇāti, avasesā arahantā tena daṭṭhabbā.

3. There is the person who, in regard to doctrines he has not heard of before, thoroughly understands by his own effort the truths, puts an end to suffering in this very existence, and attains the perfection of discipleship.Tatra yvāyaṁ puggalo pubbe ananussutesu dhammesu sāmaṁ saccāni anabhisambujjhati, na ca diṭṭheva dhamme dukkhassantakaro hoti, anāgāmī hoti anāgantā itthattaṁ, anāgāmī tena daṭṭhabbo.

Such an one is to be considered a Sāriputta and a Moggallāna.Tatra yvāyaṁ puggalo pubbe ananussutesu dhammesu sāmaṁ saccāni anabhisambujjhati, na ca diṭṭheva dhamme dukkhassantakaro hoti, āgantā itthattaṁ, sotāpannasakadāgāmino tena daṭṭhabbā.

4. There is the person who, in regard to doctrines unheard of before, thoroughly understands by his own effort the truths, puts an end to suffering in this very existence, but does not attain the perfection of discipleship.Chakkaniddeso.
