Desire Chandasutta
āMendicants, there are these four kinds of mindfulness meditation. āCattÄrome, bhikkhave, satipaį¹į¹hÄnÄ. What four? Katame cattÄro? Itās when a mendicant meditates by observing an aspect of the bodyākeen, aware, and mindful, rid of covetousness and displeasure for the world. Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu kÄye kÄyÄnupassÄ« viharati ÄtÄpÄ« sampajÄno satimÄ, vineyya loke abhijjhÄdomanassaį¹. As they do so they give up desire for the body. Tassa kÄye kÄyÄnupassino viharato yo kÄyasmiį¹ chando so pahÄ«yati. When desire is given up they realize freedom from death. Chandassa pahÄnÄ amataį¹ sacchikataį¹ hoti.
They meditate observing an aspect of feelingsākeen, aware, and mindful, rid of covetousness and displeasure for the world. VedanÄsu vedanÄnupassÄ« viharati ÄtÄpÄ« sampajÄno satimÄ, vineyya loke abhijjhÄdomanassaį¹. As they do so they give up desire for feelings. Tassa vedanÄsu vedanÄnupassino viharato yo vedanÄsu chando so pahÄ«yati. When desire is given up they realize freedom from death. Chandassa pahÄnÄ amataį¹ sacchikataį¹ hoti.

Tassa dhammesu dhammÄnupassino viharato yo dhammesu chando so pahÄ«yati. When desire is given up they realize freedom from death.ā Chandassa pahÄnÄ amataį¹ sacchikataį¹ hotÄ«āti.
