Hard to Do Dukkarasutta

ā€œHard to do, hard to withstand, ā€œDukkaraṁ duttitikkhaƱca, is the ascetic life for the inept, abyattena ca sāmaƱƱaṁ; for it has many narrow passes BahÅ«hi tattha sambādhā, where the fool founders.ā€ yattha bālo visÄ«datÄ«ā€ti.

ā€œHow many days could an ascetic live ā€œKatihaṁ careyya sāmaƱƱaṁ, without controlling the mind? cittaƱce na nivāraye; They’d founder with each step, Pade pade visÄ«deyya, under the sway of thoughts. saį¹…kappānaṁ vasānugoti.

A mendicant should collect their thoughts Kummova aį¹…gāni sake kapāle, as a tortoise draws its limbs into its shell. Samodahaṁ bhikkhu manovitakke; Independent, not disturbing others, Anissito aƱƱamaheį¹­hayāno, quenched: they wouldn’t blame anyone.ā€ Parinibbuto nÅ«pavadeyya kaƱcÄ«ā€ti.
