Suffering Dukkhasutta

At Sāvatthī. Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

Seated to one side, Venerable Rādha said to the Buddha: Ekamantaṁ nisinno kho āyasmā rādho bhagavantaṁ etadavoca:

ā€œSir, they speak of this thing called ā€˜suffering’. ā€œā€˜dukkhaṁ, dukkhan’ti, bhante, vuccati. What is suffering?ā€ Katamaṁ nu kho, bhante, dukkhanā€ti?

ā€œRādha, form, feeling, perception, choices, and consciousness are suffering. ā€œRÅ«paṁ kho, rādha, dukkhaṁ, vedanā dukkhā, saƱƱā dukkhā, saį¹…khārā dukkhā, viññāṇaṁ dukkhaṁ.

Seeing this … Evaṁ passaṁ …pe… They understand: ā€˜ā€¦ there is nothing further for this place.ā€™ā€ nāparaṁ itthattāyāti pajānātÄ«ā€ti.

Pañcamaṁ.
