A Gentleman (2nd) Dutiyakulaputtasutta

ā€œMendicants, whatever gentlemen—past, ā€œYe hi keci, bhikkhave, atÄ«tamaddhānaṁ kulaputtā sammā agārasmā anagāriyaṁ pabbajitā yathābhÅ«taṁ abhisamesuṁ, sabbe te cattāri ariyasaccāni yathābhÅ«taṁ abhisamesuṁ. future, Ye hi keci, bhikkhave, anāgatamaddhānaṁ kulaputtā sammā agārasmā anagāriyaṁ pabbajitā yathābhÅ«taṁ abhisamessanti, sabbe te cattāri ariyasaccāni yathābhÅ«taṁ abhisamessanti. or present—truly comprehend after rightly going forth from the lay life to homelessness, all of them truly comprehend the four noble truths. Ye hi keci, bhikkhave, etarahi kulaputtā sammā agārasmā anagāriyaṁ pabbajitā yathābhÅ«taṁ abhisamenti, sabbe te cattāri ariyasaccāni yathābhÅ«taṁ abhisamenti.

What four? Katamāni cattāri? The noble truths of suffering, the origin of suffering, the cessation of suffering, and the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering. … Dukkhaṁ ariyasaccaṁ, dukkhasamudayaṁ ariyasaccaṁ, dukkhanirodhaṁ ariyasaccaṁ, dukkhanirodhagāminÄ« paį¹­ipadā ariyasaccaṁ. Ye hi keci, bhikkhave, atÄ«tamaddhānaṁ kulaputtā sammā agārasmā anagāriyaṁ pabbajitā yathābhÅ«taṁ abhisamesuṁ …pe… abhisamessanti …pe… abhisamenti, sabbe te imāni cattāri ariyasaccāni yathābhÅ«taṁ abhisamenti.

That’s why you should practice meditation ā€¦ā€ Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, ā€˜idaṁ dukkhan’ti yogo karaṇīyo …pe… ā€˜ayaṁ dukkhanirodhagāminÄ« paį¹­ipadā’ti yogo karaṇīyoā€ti.
