Practice (2nd) Dutiyapaį¹­ipattisutta

At Sāvatthī. Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

ā€œMendicants, I will teach you one practicing wrongly and one practicing rightly. ā€œMicchāpaį¹­ipannaƱca vo, bhikkhave, desessāmi, sammāpaį¹­ipannaƱca. Listen … Taṁ suṇātha.

And who is practicing wrongly? Katamo ca, bhikkhave, micchāpaį¹­ipanno? It’s someone who has wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, and wrong immersion. Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco micchādiį¹­į¹­hiko hoti …pe… micchāsamādhi—This is called one practicing wrongly. ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, micchāpaį¹­ipanno.

And who is practicing rightly? Katamo ca, bhikkhave, sammāpaį¹­ipanno? It’s someone who has right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion.
