āMendicants, there are these five faculties. āPaƱcimÄni, bhikkhave, indriyÄni. What five? KatamÄni paƱca? The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom. Saddhindriyaį¹ ā¦pe⦠paƱƱindriyaį¹āThese are the five faculties. imÄni kho, bhikkhave, paƱcindriyÄni.
Someone who has completed and fulfilled these five faculties is a perfected one. If they are weaker than that, theyāre a non-returner ⦠a once-returner ⦠a stream-enterer ⦠a follower of teachings ⦠a follower by faith. Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, paƱcannaį¹ indriyÄnaį¹ samattÄ paripÅ«rattÄ arahaį¹ hoti, tato mudutarehi anÄgÄmÄ« hoti, tato mudutarehi sakadÄgÄmÄ« hoti, tato mudutarehi sotÄpanno hoti, tato mudutarehi dhammÄnusÄrÄ« hoti, tato mudutarehi saddhÄnusÄrÄ« hoti.
So from a disparity of faculties thereās a disparity of fruits. And from a disparity of fruits thereās a disparity of individuals.ā Iti kho, bhikkhave, indriyavemattatÄ phalavemattatÄ hoti, phalavemattatÄ puggalavemattatÄāti.
