Who gets arrested when they take things away? Kiṁsu harantaṁ vārenti, And who is loved when they take things away? haranto pana ko piyo; And who is approved by the astute Kiṁsu punappunāyantaṁ, when they come again and again?” abhinandanti paṇḍitā”ti.

“Power is authority in the world. “Vaso issariyaṁ loke, A woman is the best of valuables. itthī bhaṇḍānamuttamaṁ; Anger in the world is a rusty sword. Kodho satthamalaṁ loke, A bandit is a pest in the world. corā lokasmimabbudā.

A bandit gets arrested when they take things away. Coraṁ harantaṁ vārenti, And an ascetic is loved when they take things away. haranto samaṇo piyo; An ascetic is approved by the astute Samaṇaṁ punappunāyantaṁ, when they come again and again.” abhinandanti paṇḍitā”ti.
