“Mendicants, there are these three faculties. “Tīṇimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni. What three? Katamāni tīṇi? The faculties of femininity, masculinity, and life. Itthindriyaṁ, purisindriyaṁ, jīvitindriyaṁ—These are the three faculties.” imāni kho, bhikkhave, tīṇi indriyānī”ti.
