Kinds of Barrenness Khilasutta

ā€œMendicants, there are these three kinds of barrenness. ā€œTayome, bhikkhave, khilā. What three? Katame tayo? Greed, hate, and delusion. Rāgo khilo, doso khilo, moho khilo—These are the three kinds of barrenness. ime kho, bhikkhave, tayo khilā.

The noble eightfold path should be developed for the direct knowledge, complete understanding, finishing, and giving up of these three kinds of barrenness.ā€ Imesaṁ kho, bhikkhave, tiṇṇannaṁ khilānaṁ abhiƱƱāya pariƱƱāya parikkhayāya pahānāya …pe… ayaṁ ariyo aį¹­į¹­haį¹…giko maggo bhāvetabboā€ti.
