Seeing an old person, and one suffering from disease, “Jiṇṇañca disvā dukhitañca byādhitaṁ, and a corpse come to the end of life, Matañca disvā gatamāyusaṅkhayaṁ; I went forth, becoming a wanderer, Tato ahaṁ nikkhamitūna pabbajiṁ, and giving up the pleasures of the senses. Pahāya kāmāni manoramānī”ti.
