MÄraās Dominion MÄradheyyasutta
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard. VuttaƱhetaį¹ bhagavatÄ vuttamarahatÄti me sutaį¹:
āMendicants, a mendicant with these three qualities has slipped free of MÄraās dominion and shines like the sun. āTÄ«hi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannÄgato bhikkhu atikkamma mÄradheyyaį¹ Ädiccova virocati. What three? Katamehi tÄ«hi? Itās when they have the entire spectrum of the adeptās ethics, immersion, and wisdom. Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu asekhena sÄ«lakkhandhena samannÄgato hoti, asekhena samÄdhikkhandhena samannÄgato hoti, asekhena paƱƱÄkkhandhena samannÄgato hotiāA mendicant with these three qualities has slipped free of MÄraās dominion and shines like the sun.ā imehi kho, bhikkhave, tÄ«hi dhammehi samannÄgato bhikkhu atikkamma mÄradheyyaį¹ Ädiccova virocatÄ«āti.
The Buddha spoke this matter. Etamatthaį¹ bhagavÄ avoca. On this it is said: Tatthetaį¹ iti vuccati:
āWhoever has well developed āSÄ«laį¹ samÄdhi paĆ±Ć±Ä ca, ethics, immersion, and wisdom yassa ete subhÄvitÄ; has slipped free of MÄraās dominion Atikkamma mÄradheyyaį¹, and shines like the sun.ā Ädiccova virocatÄ«āti.
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard. Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatÄ, iti me sutanti.
