Mettikā Mettikātherīgāthā

Though in pain, “Kiñcāpi khomhi dukkhitā, feeble, my youth long gone, dubbalā gatayobbanā; I climb the mountain, Daṇḍamolubbha gacchāmi, leaning on a staff. pabbataṁ abhirūhiya.

Having laid down my outer robe Nikkhipitvāna saṅghāṭiṁ, and overturned my bowl, pattakañca nikujjiya; sitting on a rock, Nisinnā camhi selamhi, my mind was freed. atha cittaṁ vimucci me; I’ve attained the three knowledges, Tisso vijjā anuppattā, and fulfilled the Buddha’s instructions. kataṁ buddhassa sāsanan”ti.
