Nāgasamāla Nāgasamālattheragāthā

Adorned with jewelry and all dressed up, “Alaṅkatā suvasanā, with garlands, and sandalwood makeup piled on, mālinī candanussadā; along the main street is a lady—Majjhe mahāpathe nārī, a dancer dancing as the music plays. tūriye naccati naṭṭakī.

I entered for alms, Piṇḍikāya paviṭṭhohaṁ, and while walking along I glanced at her, gacchanto naṁ udikkhisaṁ; adorned with jewelry and all dressed up, Alaṅkataṁ suvasanaṁ, like a snare of death laid down. maccupāsaṁva oḍḍitaṁ.

Then the realization Tato me manasīkāro, came upon me—yoniso udapajjatha; the danger became clear, Ādīnavo pāturahu, and I grew firmly disillusioned. nibbidā samatiṭṭhatha.

Then my mind was freed—Tato cittaṁ vimucci me, behold the clear rightness of the teaching! passa dhammasudhammataṁ; I’ve attained the three knowledges Tisso vijjā anuppattā, and fulfilled the Buddha’s instructions. kataṁ buddhassa sāsanan”ti.
