Nandaka (2nd) Nandakattheragāthā
Curse you mortal frame, you stink! “Dhiratthu pūre duggandhe, You’re on Māra’s side, you fester! mārapakkhe avassute; O body, you have nine streams Navasotāni te kāye, that are flowing all the time. yāni sandanti sabbadā.
Don’t think much of mortal frames; Mā purāṇaṁ amaññittho, don’t disparage the Realized Ones. māsādesi tathāgate; They’re not even aroused by heaven, Saggepi te na rajjanti, let alone by humans. kimaṅgaṁ pana mānuse.
But those who are fools and simpletons, Ye ca kho bālā dummedhā, with bad advisors, shrouded in delusion, dummantī mohapārutā; that kind of person is aroused by bodies, Tādisā tattha rajjanti, when Māra has laid down the snare. mārakhittamhi bandhane.
Those in whom greed, hate, and ignorance Yesaṁ rāgo ca doso ca, have faded away; avijjā ca virājitā; such people are not aroused by bodies, Tādī tattha na rajjanti, they’ve cut the strings, they’re no longer bound. chinnasuttā abandhanā”ti.
