“Struck by a wind ailment “Vātarogābhinīto tvaṁ, while dwelling in a forest grove, viharaṁ kānane vane; you’ve entered a tough resort for gathering alms—Paviddhagocare lūkhe, how will you get by, monk?” kathaṁ bhikkhu karissasi”.

“Pervading this bag of bones “Pītisukhena vipulena, with abundant rapture and happiness, pharitvāna samussayaṁ; putting up with what’s tough, Lūkhampi abhisambhonto, I’ll dwell in the forest. viharissāmi kānane.

Developing the seven awakening factors, Bhāvento satta bojjhaṅge, the faculties and the powers, indriyāni balāni ca; endowed with subtle absorptions, Jhānasokhummasampanno, I’ll dwell without defilements. viharissaṁ anāsavo.

Freed from corruptions, Vippamuttaṁ kilesehi, my pure mind is unclouded. suddhacittaṁ anāvilaṁ; Frequently reviewing this, Abhiṇhaṁ paccavekkhanto, I’ll meditate without defilements. viharissaṁ anāsavo.

Those defilements that were found in me, Ajjhattañca bahiddhā ca, internally and externally, ye me vijjiṁsu āsavā; are all cut off without remainder, Sabbe asesā ucchinnā, and will not arise again. na ca uppajjare puna.

The five aggregates are fully understood, Pañcakkhandhā pariññātā, they remain, but their root is cut. tiṭṭhanti chinnamūlakā; I have reached the ending of suffering, Dukkhakkhayo anuppatto, now there’ll be no more future lives.” natthi dāni punabbhavo”ti.
