Paccaya Paccayattheragāthā

I went forth five days ago, “Pañcāhāhaṁ pabbajito, a trainee, my heart’s desire unfulfilled. sekho appattamānaso; I entered my dwelling Vihāraṁ me paviṭṭhassa, and resolved in my heart: cetaso paṇidhī ahu.

I won’t eat; I won’t drink; Nāsissaṁ na pivissāmi, I won’t leave my dwelling; vihārato na nikkhame; nor will I lie down on my side—Napi passaṁ nipātessaṁ, not until the dart of craving is plucked. taṇhāsalle anūhate.

See my energy and vigor Tassa mevaṁ viharato, as I meditate like this! passa vīriyaparakkamaṁ; I’ve attained the three knowledges Tisso vijjā anuppattā, and fulfilled the Buddha’s instructions. kataṁ buddhassa sāsanan”ti.
