Under Her Thumb Pasayhasutta

“Mendicants, there are these five powers of a lady. “Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, mātugāmassa balāni. What five? Katamāni pañca? Attractiveness, wealth, relatives, children, and ethical behavior. Rūpabalaṁ, bhogabalaṁ, ñātibalaṁ, puttabalaṁ, sīlabalaṁ—These are the five powers of a lady. imāni kho, bhikkhave, pañca mātugāmassa balāni. A lady living at home with these five powers has her husband under her thumb.” Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi balehi samannāgato mātugāmo sāmikaṁ pasayha agāraṁ ajjhāvasatī”ti.
