A Tree (1st) Paį¹­hamarukkhasutta

ā€œMendicants, of all the trees in the Black Plum Tree Land, the black plum is said to be the best. ā€œSeyyathāpi, bhikkhave, ye keci jambudÄ«pakā rukkhā, jambÅ« tesaṁ aggamakkhāyati; In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities that lead to awakening in terms of becoming awakened. evameva kho, bhikkhave, ye keci bodhipakkhiyā dhammā, paƱƱindriyaṁ tesaṁ aggamakkhāyati, yadidaṁ—bodhāya. And what are the qualities that lead to awakening? Katame ca, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyā dhammā? The faculties of faith, Saddhindriyaṁ, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati. energy, VÄ«riyindriyaṁ …pe… mindfulness, satindriyaṁ … immersion, samādhindriyaṁ … and wisdom are qualities that lead to awakening, in that they lead to becoming awakened. paƱƱindriyaṁ bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati.
