Elements Pathavīdhātusutta
At Sāvatthī. Sāvatthinidānaṁ.
“Mendicants, the earth element is impermanent, decaying, and perishing. “Pathavīdhātu, bhikkhave, aniccā vipariṇāmī aññathābhāvī; The water element, āpodhātu … the fire element, tejodhātu … the air element, vāyodhātu … the space element, ākāsadhātu … and the consciousness element are impermanent, decaying, and perishing. viññāṇadhātu aniccā vipariṇāmī aññathābhāvī.
Someone who has faith and confidence in these teachings is called a follower by faith. …” Yo, bhikkhave, ime dhamme evaṁ saddahati adhimuccati, ayaṁ vuccati ‘saddhānusārī …pe… sambodhiparāyano’”ti.
