Serenity and Discernment Samathavipassanāsutta

ā€œMendicants, I will teach you the unconditioned and the path that leads to the unconditioned. ā€œAsaį¹…khataƱca vo, bhikkhave, desessāmi asaį¹…khatagāmiƱca maggaṁ. Listen … Taṁ suṇātha.

And what is the unconditioned? KatamaƱca, bhikkhave, asaį¹…khataṁ? The ending of greed, hate, and delusion. Yo, bhikkhave, rāgakkhayo dosakkhayo mohakkhayo—This is called the unconditioned. idaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, asaį¹…khataṁ. And what is the path that leads to the unconditioned? Katamo ca, bhikkhave, asaį¹…khatagāmimaggo? Serenity and discernment. Samatho ca vipassanā ca.
