Wealth in Brief Saį¹ khittadhanasutta
āMendicants, there are these seven kinds of wealth. āSattimÄni, bhikkhave, dhanÄni. What seven? KatamÄni satta? The wealth of faith, ethics, conscience, prudence, learning, generosity, and wisdom. SaddhÄdhanaį¹, sÄ«ladhanaį¹, hirÄ«dhanaį¹, ottappadhanaį¹, sutadhanaį¹, cÄgadhanaį¹, paƱƱÄdhanaį¹. These are the seven kinds of wealth. ImÄni kho, bhikkhave, satta dhanÄnÄ«ti.
Faith and ethical conduct are kinds of wealth, SaddhÄdhanaį¹ sÄ«ladhanaį¹, as are conscience and prudence, hirÄ« ottappiyaį¹ dhanaį¹; learning and generosity, SutadhanaƱca cÄgo ca, and wisdom is the seventh kind of wealth. paĆ±Ć±Ä ve sattamaį¹ dhanaį¹.
When a woman or man Yassa ete dhanÄ atthi, has these kinds of wealth, itthiyÄ purisassa vÄ; theyāre said to be prosperous, Adaliddoti taį¹ Ähu, their life is not in vain. amoghaį¹ tassa jÄ«vitaį¹.
So let the wise devote themselves TasmÄ saddhaƱca sÄ«laƱca, to faith, ethical behavior, PasÄdaį¹ dhammadassanaį¹; confidence, and insight into the teaching, AnuyuƱjetha medhÄvÄ«, remembering the instructions of the Buddhas.ā Saraį¹ buddhÄna sÄsananāti.
