Origin Samudayasutta
āMendicants, I will teach you the origin and the ending of the four kinds of mindfulness meditation. āCatunnaį¹, bhikkhave, satipaį¹į¹hÄnÄnaį¹ samudayaƱca atthaį¹ gamaƱca desessÄmi. Listen ⦠Taį¹ suį¹Ätha.
And what is the origin of the body? Ko ca, bhikkhave, kÄyassa samudayo? The body originates from fuel. ÄhÄrasamudayÄ kÄyassa samudayo; When fuel ceases, the body ends. ÄhÄranirodhÄ kÄyassa atthaį¹ gamo.
Feelings originate from contact. PhassasamudayÄ vedanÄnaį¹ samudayo; When contact ceases, feelings end. phassanirodhÄ vedanÄnaį¹ atthaį¹ gamo.
The mind originates from name and form. NÄmarÅ«pasamudayÄ cittassa samudayo; When name and form cease, the mind ends. nÄmarÅ«panirodhÄ cittassa atthaį¹ gamo.
Principles originate from application of mind. ManasikÄrasamudayÄ dhammÄnaį¹ samudayo; When application of mind ends, principles end.ā manasikÄranirodhÄ dhammÄnaį¹ atthaį¹ gamoāti.
