Itās like a bride on the day or night sheās first brought to her husbandās home. Right away she sets up a keen sense of conscience and prudence for her mother and father in law, her husband, and even the bondservants, workers, and staff. SeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, vadhukÄ yaƱƱadeva rattiį¹ vÄ divaį¹ vÄ ÄnÄ«tÄ hoti, tÄvadevassÄ tibbaį¹ hirottappaį¹ paccupaį¹į¹hitaį¹ hoti sassuyÄpi sasurepi sÄmikepi antamaso dÄsakammakaraporisesu. But after some time, because of living together and familiarity, sheāll even say to her mother and father in law, or to her husband: SÄ aparena samayena saį¹vÄsamanvÄya vissÄsamanvÄya sassumpi sasurampi sÄmikampi evamÄha: āGo away! What would you know?ā āapetha, kiį¹ pana tumhe jÄnÄthÄāti. In the same way, on the day or night a mendicant first goes forth from the lay life to homelessness, right away they set up a keen sense of conscience and prudence for the monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen, and even the monastery workers and novices. Evamevaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, idhekacco bhikkhu yaƱƱadeva rattiį¹ vÄ divaį¹ vÄ agÄrasmÄ anagÄriyaį¹ pabbajito hoti, tÄvadevassa tibbaį¹ hirottappaį¹ paccupaį¹į¹hitaį¹ hoti bhikkhÅ«su bhikkhunÄ«su upÄsakesu upÄsikÄsu antamaso ÄrÄmikasamaį¹uddesesu. What would you know?ā āapetha, kiį¹ pana tumhe jÄnÄthÄāti.
So you should train like this: TasmÄtiha, bhikkhave, evaį¹ sikkhitabbaį¹: āWe will live with hearts like that of a newly wedded bride.ā āadhunÄgatavadhukÄsamena cetasÄ viharissÄmÄāti. Thatās how you should train.ā EvaƱhi vo, bhikkhave, sikkhitabbanāti.
