Homage to that Blessed One, the perfected one, the fully awakened Buddha! Namo tassa Bhagavato Arahato Sammāsambuddhassa.

I take refuge in the Buddha, Buddhaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi, I take refuge in the Teaching, Dhammaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi, I take refuge in the Sangha. Saṅghaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi.

For the second time I take refuge in the Buddha, Dutiyampi buddhaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi, for the second time I take refuge in the Teaching, Dutiyampi dhammaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi, for the second time I take refuge in the Sangha. Dutiyampi saṅghaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi.

For the third time I take refuge in the Buddha, Tatiyampi buddhaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi, for the third time I take refuge in the Teaching, Tatiyampi dhammaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi, for the third time I take refuge in the Sangha. Tatiyampi saṅghaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi.
