Senaka Senakattheragāthā
It was so welcome for me “Svāgataṁ vata me āsi, during the Gayā spring festival gayāyaṁ gayaphagguyā; to see the Awakened One Yaṁ addasāsiṁ sambuddhaṁ, teaching the supreme Dhamma. desentaṁ dhammamuttamaṁ.
He was glorious, the tutor of a community, Mahappabhaṁ gaṇācariyaṁ, a leader who had realized the highest. aggapattaṁ vināyakaṁ; In all the world with its gods, Sadevakassa lokassa, he was the victor of unequaled vision. jinaṁ atuladassanaṁ.
A great giant, a great hero, Mahānāgaṁ mahāvīraṁ, a great light free of defilement. mahājutimanāsavaṁ; With the utter ending of all defilements, Sabbāsavaparikkhīṇaṁ, the teacher fears nothing from any quarter. satthāramakutobhayaṁ.
For a long time, sadly, I was corrupted, Cirasaṅkiliṭṭhaṁ vata maṁ, fettered by the bond of wrong view. diṭṭhisandānabandhitaṁ; That Blessed One, Senaka, Vimocayi so bhagavā, released me from all ties. sabbaganthehi senakan”ti.
