Soṇa of the Sharp Ears Soṇakuṭikaṇṇattheragāthā
I’ve received ordination; “Upasampadā ca me laddhā, I am liberated, without defilements; vimutto camhi anāsavo; I’ve seen the Blessed One myself, So ca me bhagavā diṭṭho, and even stayed together with him. vihāre ca sahāvasiṁ.
The Blessed One, the teacher, Bahudeva rattiṁ bhagavā, spent much of the night in the open; abbhokāsetināmayi; then he, who is so skilled in meditation, Vihārakusalo satthā, entered his dwelling. vihāraṁ pāvisī tadā.
Spreading his outer robe, Santharitvāna saṅghāṭiṁ, Gotama made his bed, seyyaṁ kappesi gotamo; like a lion in a rocky cave, Sīho selaguhāyaṁva, with fear and dread given up. pahīnabhayabheravo.
Then, with lovely enunciation, Tato kalyāṇavākkaraṇo, Soṇa, a disciple of the Buddha, sammāsambuddhasāvako; recited the true teaching Soṇo abhāsi saddhammaṁ, before the best of Buddhas. buddhaseṭṭhassa sammukhā.
When he has completely understood <j>the five aggregates, Pañcakkhandhe pariññāya, developed the direct route, Bhāvayitvāna añjasaṁ; and arrived at ultimate peace, Pappuyya paramaṁ santiṁ, undefiled, he’ll be fully quenched. Parinibbissatyanāsavo”ti.
