At SÄvatthÄ«. SÄvatthiyaį¹ viharati.
Then Venerable SujÄta went to see the Buddha. Atha kho ÄyasmÄ sujÄto yena bhagavÄ tenupasaį¹ kami.
The Buddha saw him coming off in the distance, AddasÄ kho bhagavÄ Äyasmantaį¹ sujÄtaį¹ dÅ«ratova Ägacchantaį¹. and addressed the mendicants: DisvÄna bhikkhÅ« Ämantesi: āThis gentleman shines in both ways. āubhayenevÄyaį¹, bhikkhave, kulaputto sobhatiāHeās attractive, good-looking, lovely, of surpassing beauty. And he has realized the supreme end of the spiritual path in this very life. He lives having achieved with his own insight the goal for which gentlemen rightly go forth from the lay life to homelessness.ā yaƱca abhirÅ«po dassanÄ«yo pÄsÄdiko paramÄya vaį¹į¹apokkharatÄya samannÄgato, yassa catthÄya kulaputtÄ sammadeva agÄrasmÄ anagÄriyaį¹ pabbajanti tadanuttaraį¹ brahmacariyapariyosÄnaį¹ diį¹į¹heva dhamme sayaį¹ abhiĆ±Ć±Ä sacchikatvÄ upasampajja viharatÄ«āti.
That is what the Buddha said. Idamavoca bhagavÄ ā¦pe⦠Then the Holy One, the Teacher, went on to say: satthÄ:
āThis mendicant truly shines. āSobhati vatÄyaį¹ bhikkhu, His heart is upright, ujubhÅ«tena cetasÄ; heās unfettered, detached, Vippayutto visaį¹yutto, quenched by not grasping. anupÄdÄya nibbuto; He bears his final body, DhÄreti antimaį¹ dehaį¹, having vanquished MÄra with his legions.ā jetvÄ mÄraį¹ savÄhinināti.
