Joy and Happiness Sukhasomanassasutta

ā€œMendicants, when a mendicant has six things they’re full of joy and happiness in this very life, and they have laid the groundwork for ending the defilements. ā€œChahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu diį¹į¹heva dhamme sukhasomanassabahulo viharati, yoni cassa āraddhā hoti āsavānaṁ khayāya. What six? Katamehi chahi? It’s when a mendicant enjoys the teaching, meditation, giving up, seclusion, kindness, and non-proliferation. Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu dhammārāmo hoti, bhāvanārāmo hoti, pahānārāmo hoti, pavivekārāmo hoti, abyāpajjhārāmo hoti, nippapaƱcārāmo hoti. When a mendicant possesses these six things they’re full of joy and happiness in this very life, and they have laid the groundwork for ending the defilements.ā€ Imehi kho, bhikkhave, chahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu diį¹į¹heva dhamme sukhasomanassabahulo viharati, yoni cassa āraddhā hoti āsavānaṁ khayāyāā€ti.
