Goldblack’s Conduct Suvaṇṇasāmacariya
“When in a wood I was Sāma the black, “Sāmo yadā vane āsiṁ, created by Sakka. sakkena abhinimmito; I led the lions and tigers Pavane sīhabyagghe ca, in the forest by love. mettāya mupanāmayiṁ.
Surrounded by lions and tigers, Sīhabyagghehi dīpīhi, leopards, bears, buffaloes, acchehi mahisehi ca; spotted deer, and wild boar, Pasadamigavarāhehi, I stayed in the forest. parivāretvā vane vasiṁ.
None were scared of me, Na maṁ koci uttasati, nor I of them. napi bhāyāmi kassaci; Sustained by the power of love Mettābalenupatthaddho, I delighted in the forest then.” ramāmi pavane tadā”ti.
