“By what is the world ensnared? “Kenassu uḍḍito loko, By what is it surrounded? kenassu parivārito; By what is the world fastened shut? Kenassu pihito loko, On what is the world grounded?” kismiṁ loko patiṭṭhito”ti.

“Craving has ensnared the world. “Taṇhāya uḍḍito loko, It’s surrounded by old age. jarāya parivārito; The world is fastened shut by mortality. Maccunā pihito loko, The world is grounded on suffering.” dukkhe loko patiṭṭhito”ti.
