Usabha (2nd) Usabhattheragāthā

Arranging a robe over my shoulder, “Ambapallavasaṅkāsaṁ, the color of young mango sprouts, aṁse katvāna cīvaraṁ; I entered the village for alms Nisinno hatthigīvāyaṁ, sitting on an elephant’s neck! gāmaṁ piṇḍāya pāvisiṁ.

But when I dismounted from the elephant, Hatthikkhandhato oruyha, I was struck with a sense of urgency. saṁvegaṁ alabhiṁ tadā; I burned with shame, but then I found peace, Sohaṁ ditto tadā santo, and attained the ending of defilements. patto me āsavakkhayo”ti.
