Vasabha Vasabhattheragāthā

First one kills oneself, “Pubbe hanati attānaṁ, then one kills others. pacchā hanati so pare; One kills oneself, really dead, Suhataṁ hanti attānaṁ, like one who kills birds using a dead bird as a decoy. vītaṁseneva pakkhimā.

A brahmin’s color is not on the outside; Na brāhmaṇo bahivaṇṇo, a brahmin is colored on the inside. anto vaṇṇo hi brāhmaṇo; Whoever harbors bad deeds Yasmiṁ pāpāni kammāni, is truly a dark one, Sujampati. sa ve kaṇho sujampatī”ti.

Tassuddānaṁ

Uttaro ceva piṇḍolo, valliyo tīriyo isi; Ajino ca meḷajino, rādho surādho gotamo; Vasabhena ime honti, dasa therā mahiddhikāti.
