Vītasoka Vītasokattheragāthā

The barber approached “Kese me olikhissanti, to shave my head. kappako upasaṅkami; I picked up a mirror Tato ādāsamādāya, and examined my body. sarīraṁ paccavekkhisaṁ.

My body appeared hollow; Tuccho kāyo adissittha, I once was blind, but the darkness disappeared. andhakāro tamo byagā; My fancy hairdo has been cut off: Sabbe coḷā samucchinnā, now there’ll be no more future lives. natthi dāni punabbhavo”ti.
