Then a mendicant went up to the Buddha ⦠and asked him, Atha kho aƱƱataro bhikkhu ā¦pe⦠ekamantaį¹ nisinno kho so bhikkhu bhagavantaį¹ etadavoca: āSir, may the Buddha please teach me Dhamma in brief. When Iāve heard it, Iāll live alone, withdrawn, diligent, keen, and resolute.ā āsÄdhu me, bhante, bhagavÄ saį¹ khittena dhammaį¹ desetu ā¦pe⦠vihareyyanāti.
āMendicant, give up desire for anything that doesnāt belong to self.ā āYaį¹ kho, bhikkhu, anattaniyaį¹; tatra te chando pahÄtabboāti.
