That Which is Not-Self Yadanattāsutta

At Sāvatthī. Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

“Mendicants, form is not-self. “Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, anattā. And what’s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’ Yadanattā taṁ ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ.

Feeling is not-self … Vedanā anattā …

Perception is not-self … saññā anattā …

Choices are not-self … saṅkhārā anattā …

Consciousness is not-self. viññāṇaṁ anattā. And what’s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’ Yadanattā taṁ ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ.

Seeing this … Evaṁ passaṁ, bhikkhave …pe… They understand: ‘… there is nothing further for this place.’” nāparaṁ itthattāyā’ti pajānātī”ti.
